The SPEEA rally, a meeting of good friends, Kaylie's special abilities...

Picture in guest room at cabin We managed to visit our cabin near Mt. Rainier. Mike and Colleen had this picture hanging in the cabin guest room. I just had to get a picture! Rhys and Thomas playing Thomas spent part of an afternoon playing frisbee with Rhys. I managed to catch Rhys as he struggled to gain control of the frisbee. Wow, look at those ears!
The SPEEA rally at the Mercer Arena The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) held a strike information rally at the Mercer Arena at the Seattle Center. The crowd in this picture is showing approval for the Kaiser Aluminum Steel Workers who have been locked out and have been striking for 18 months! Paul Herrick, Steve Simeon, Dick Patten, Bill Schaffer Paul Herrick and Dick Patten organized a dinner meeting at the Yankee Grill in Renton. Of course Dick had to smoke a cigar and Paul told some good jokes. Randy Russell remembered the time when he destroyed two of his cars at the same time-- one rolled down his driveway, jumped an embankment, and landed on top of his other car parked below! Steve Simeon related his thoughts about the Boeing SPEEA strike and volunteered to have another get-together at his house in late April.
Everyone talking On the count of three, everyone spoke in a different language. Kaylie chose to speak in sign language, trying to communicate something relating to the bathroom. Austin attempted communication via a mind-meld through the thumb and forefinger of the right hand. Kaylie visits Rhys Rhys remained astonishingly docile as Kaylie inserted her hand into his ear.
Kaylie sits with Valorie Kaylie insisted on sitting on the deck until the flowers bloomed. Sure enough, right before their eyes the doffodils sprouted and opened their magnificant yellow blossoms! Unfortunately, Kaylie was not impressed and looked towards Porkie wondering if a pig would like to eat yellow flowers. Kaylie checks fence rail Having an inquisitive mind, Kaylie performed a stress analysis on the cedar fence rail. Rhys moved to the next fence section just in case the stress test proved to be destructive.
Kaylie raises her arms and yells Kaylie raises her arms to prove that her underarm anti-perspirant deordorant is effective in controlling perspiration. However, unknown to her, it caused her sweat glands to migrate more to the center of her body. Kaylie learns to rake After Valorie struggled for several minutes, Kaylie grabbed the lawn rake and gave her a demonstration and lecture on how to appropriately rake under a rabbit cage.
Kaylie jumps on the trampoline After intense concentration, Kaylie levitated over the surface of the trampoline. The crowd watching her, however, insisted it was only the result of her jumping on a flexible surface. Kaylie was later heard to comment, "Adults just don't get it!" Lola says hello to Austin This picture proves that smiles are contageous. Lola smiled and then touched Austin with only her index finder. The energy flowed from Lola's face, through Austin, up Nickki's arms and erupted into a smile on Nickki's face. Or was it the other way around?
Ted holding Austin Having heard that Ball Park Franks plump when you cook them, Ted wonders whether Nickki has been roasting Austin for the last few weeks. Valorie holding Austin Valorie listened intently as Austin explained the finer points of the new theory of kinetic levitation. Kaylie demonstrated the application of Austin's theories earlier in the day.
Kaylie explores the yard with Valorie A side-effect of Kaylie's levitation demonstration is the ability hypnotize those who have witnessed her abilities. Under the spell of Kaylies melodic voice, Valorie obediently follows her around the yard. Austin lifts head Austin is often engaged in long periods of intense concentration. Here he listens as Kaylie explains the finer points of hypnotic suggestion.
Austin looks left Austin complains to his mother after realizing that he was wearing his suspenders and play shirt. As he was heard to say, "How many times must I remind you, mom, I always wear formal clothing when I explain my theories of levitation!" Kaylie with bug eyes Unknown to Bob, Kaylie has formed special relationships to alien creatures called "HUM-BUGS" These creatures have large bug-like eyes.
Kaylie in dogs basket As Bob placed his hands beside Kaylie's throne, he felt hum-bug vibrations as Kaylie communicated to the blue, four-legged hum-bug. Kaylie laughs while in a basket Kaylie uses her hypnotic abilities to force Bob to sing the alien hum-bug national anthem. The words to the anthem are spoken in hum-bugian language which sounds really silly to human ears.
