February 2000 Photos
Anne's 20th Birthday, Angel's 25th birthday, a "going-away party", and WELCOME BRITTNEY!
Anne holds the cake she baked, frosted and decorated for HER birthday and going away party! Golly, Anne, did you eat a piece for everyone too? (Just Kidding!)
Perhaps Anne has something more in mind to do with the carving knife? Have you ever heard of carving a cake? Gee, what does Nickki think about all of this?
Anne poses with Kaylie and Austin. The picture is deceiving. Both Kaylie and Austin were wiggling and squirming, and Anne said, "Quick, Quick, take the picture!
As the cakes were placed on the table, we noticed a face looming up and a hand reaching, reaching, hoping to grab a sweet morsel.
Even Lola liked this picture, and it appears that Kaylie was enjoying herself as well!
Nickki and Anne posed for one last picture before Anne was to head back to Salome Arizona.
Anne got Nickki, Kaylie and Austin to pose for a group picture.
Paul, Anne and Thomas (along with Mollie) pose for a group picture.
So Ted even plays politics with his clothing. Just what is www.cse.org anyway?
One of the few times that we got a picture of our entire family together. (It was Anne's suggestion, and a good one at that!)
Ted provided the transporation to take Anne and Valorie to the airport! Here they stopped long enough to have their picture taken.
After saying her "goodbyes, Anne boards the airplane for her trip to sunny Arizona.
While Nickki was busy, Bob got to entertain both Kaylie and Austin. Austin smiled, but alas the camera failed to catch his smile.
Kaylie just loves tubbies. And, guess what she got for her birthday? Tubbies!
Hey, mom, now I can put lots of things in my new purse!
We know Kaylie loves cakes. And the two stands for more that just two cakes!
Did Kaylie help color on her birthday crown?
That smirk on Kaylie's face is either because she is tired of all the pictures or the flavor of the crayon was unpleasant!
Now that's quite a pose. Kaylie standing tall with her birthday crown on!
Austin gets in on the birthday celebration! Austin...Austin, are you awake?
Kaylie's cake has her "bestest" friend on it!
Kaylie takes a break and sits in her Pooh chair. Hey, she still has on her crown!
Nickki gets Kaylie ready for crown implantation.
Austin is all tuckered out after enjoying Kaylie's second birthday.
Kaylie really tackled that cake...literally.
Kaylie can't wait to get the candle and singing thing over with. She wants cake!
Kaylie sang to herself as everyone sang Happy Birthday to her!
Ted took his turn holding Austin.
Ted and Lola show Kaylie how to use her phone. Can Ted figure out how to turn it on?
Nickki holds Austin aloft. What is Austin reaching for? Can you imagine what Nickki is saying?
Kaylie checks out her new bike while Nickki and Austin look on.
Perhaps Kaylie is suffering from dreaded "shrinking head syndrome." It is caused by air trapped inside of new bike helmets designed to be worn by children several years older.
Just in case you missed it, Kaylie got a new bike. She really liked the shiny bell on the handle bars.
And lest we forget, Nickki was once a two year old too!
On Wednesday, February 9, the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) called a strike at the Boeing Company. Here I am serving my time on picket duty. Come on, Bob, serving time doesn't mean you're in prison! Smile!
SPEEA encouraged the family to join in, so Valorie helped out as well. We all waved as cars drove by and honked in support of our efforts.
Nickki made the move on Saturday February 12 to her new apartment. Paul drove from Lake City in Seattle to help her move her furniture. Here she is on Sunday morning with Kaylie and Austin.
OK, so it wasn't such a good idea to take a picture with so much backlight. The sun was smiling as Nickki, Kaylie & Austin stood in front of the window with a view of Mt. Rainier.
This is the majestic view from Nickki's apartment - at least when it's not cloudy. Or not raining. Or not foggy. Or... oh, well, at least the we know the mountain is there!
I just had to include this picture taken by Nickki on January 19, 1996 (four years ago). Anne made a snow pig!
Does anyone know what kind of birds these are? Starlings? They sure do like the seeds and were not afraid of my approach to take this picture.
Angel poses with baby Brittney
Angel looks with pride at a sleeping Brittney.
Brittney just can't seem to get excited about all of the attention she is getting. Perhaps she is all worn out. Birth is hard work for the baby too!
Brittney pleased everyone when she did wake up. She opened her eyes and looked all around.
So here are the statistics. Born at 12:42 AM, 20 inches long, 8 pounds 14 ounces.
Of course there were lots of pretty flowers and a stuffed animal.
And there were helium-filled balloons announcing, ITS A GIRL!
Is this a proud papa or what?!
Another view of Robert holding his new daughter.
Robert appears to be very protective. Hey, everyone, careful when you hold THIS package!
After much pursuasion, we were finally able to get Valorie to hold the baby! (Just kidding!)
Everyone crowds around Brittney as she is awake and looking around.
Because Nickki has a cold, she couldn't visit Angel and Brittney in the hospital. But she could come and view the pictures on-line at Bob and Valorie's. It was the perfect opportunity to get a picture of Austin. Isn't he getting big? Isn't his head bald compared to Brittney?
Austin stares in wonderment as Bob approaches with his camera and shaps a photo. Are those fists clinched as he gets ready to punch Bob?
Kaylie had lots of energy. She ran up and down the hall. Here we found her hiding in the linen closet and peeking out!
