Click Here to view my Pedigree Chart My grandfather, Franklin Zimmerman, was well educated and had a degree in geology. He made his way to the gold-fields of Alaska in the 1890's, and was followed by several of his sisters. I have a journal that details his expenses on his journey and some of the hardships he faced along the way. Please visit my page entitled, The Letters and Diary of John Franklin Zimmerman. |

My grandmother (on my mother's side), Katherine
Bartlett, lived in Brule Nebraska as a farmers wife. My
mother recalls the great dust storms of the dust bowl era
and having to run into the cellar during tornados. We
visited their old farm in 1998 and found the original
house in which they lived. Read a description of the Trip to Brule Nebraska for more
information.

My parents, Bill and Lola (Kammer) Zimmerman, when
they were living in Arcadia California. Bill worked for
most of his career in the aircraft industry, working for
Martin-Marieta and Lockheed before moving to Washington
State and working for the Boeing Company. (See the Bill Zimmerman
Photo Page.)

My parents in 1999. My father retired from The
Boeing Company in 1979 to help my mother found a new
business, The HerbFarm. They grew and sold herbs for
several years and then supported the HerbFarm by growing
small ground-cover plants called sedums. This picture
shows what the small plants look like.. My brother, Ron,
joined the business with his wife, Carrie and developed
the business into a thriving business known as The
Herbfarm. Ron and Carrie presently run The HerbFarm
Restaurant, one of the premier restaurants in the
northwest.
