Some Favorite Recipes |
Sweet Potato or Yam Casserole

Bake 4 or 5 yams about 1 hour. |
Allow to cool. |
Skin and cut into one-inch pieces and put into a baking dish. |
Add 1 can of Apple Pie filling. |
Add 1 small can of pineapple chunks (drained). |
Dot the top with butter, cinnamon and nutmeg. |
If it seems dry, add a little of the pineapple juice. |
Bake at 325 for about 25 minutes. |
Fry one pound of hamburger until brown. |
Add 1/2 ts. salt, 1/2 ts. oregano, 1 envelope of Lipton Onion Soup mix. |
Add 1 chopped onion, 1 cup of sliced carrots, 1 cup of sliced celery. |
Add 1 can of tomatoes. |
Mix in 4 or 5 cups of water (or chicken stock) (optional: add 1/2 cup of macaroni). |
Simmer for a couple of hours. |
Beef stew can be made the same way. |
Into a medium pan, add two 8-ounce cans of your favorite clam chowder. |
Use one of the empty cans to measure 8-ounces of milk and add it to the chowder. |
Add 8 to 12 ounces of sirimi (imitation crab meat), crab meat or shrimp |
Mix thoroughly |
When warm, salt and pepper to taste |
Serves four |
